YMCA of Cape Breton's Day Camp
The YMCA of Cape Breton offers Day Camps at the Canadian Coast Guard College in Westmount. The Camps will run weekly from the end of June to the end of August for 9 weeks. The Camps are for children ages 5 to 12 and must have attended either pre-school or school. The cost is $100 per week per child and $20 per day per child. If there is more than one child in the family who will be attending for the week, the second child will receive a 10% discount. There will be an additional fee of $1.00 for those using the bus services. Campers will enjoy a variety of activities that combine fun and skill improvement. These activities are designed to provide a challenge for every camper regardless of age or ability. Campers must provide their lunch each day. Payment is due upon registration. Click here for the 2009 Day Camp Registration Form.
Transportation:
Bus services are provided from both the YMCA on Charlotte St. and from the Superstore in Sydney River. Your child's name must be on the daily sign in form for that day before entering the bus. The bus departs from the YMCA at 8:30am, therefore children must be dropped off at the YMCA no later than 8:20am. Counsellors will be at the YMCA, Superstore, and the Coast Guard College at 8:15am. Children cannot be dropped off prior to this time. They can be picked up at the YMCA between 4:30 and 4:45.

We turn no one away at the YMCA. Through the All Access program, we make it possible for children and youth to attend Camp Barrachois or Day Camps regardless of their ability to pay. Our generous donors to the Strong Kids Campaign make it possible for the YMCA to offer All Access programs and services. See the registration form for more details on the All Access program.
Strong Kids:
If you would like to make it possible for a child to attend camp, donations at all levels are gratefully appreciated. Donations of $295.00 will cover the registration fee or a $200.00 donation will provide camp supplies and sleeping bags for those who need them.
Refund Policy:
There will be a 20% administration fee on balances owing for all refunds on programs in progress without a thorough medical certificate. All credit notes will apply to programs only. All credit notes and refunds will be given out on a prorated basis. All requests must be made with a signed refund request form and will not be taken over the phone.
